Alchemy is a lot easier than comics. But you're right. Persistence pays. I just finished reading a book for my book club, and the author came in to discuss the book with us and told us the story of how the book came to be in our hands. This book received awards, critical acclaim, etc., but had been rejected 17 times! She just kept sending it out until it somehow found its way into the hands of an editor who "got" it. Never give up!
