It's the DivaLea Show 2006 #1 with the first part of my interview with Tycho Brahe of Penny Arcade.

In this installment, Tycho shares his inadvertent exposure to porn, his love of words, and tries to get me to throw down on Internet drama.
Next week, we talk Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice, and Austen fanfic good and bad. No kidding.

A huge thanks to Tycho for his time, Lisa Jonte for sidekickin', and Tim at gigcast.nightgig.com for his help with techie issues and for turning me on to the goodness that is podsafe music!

EDIT: Bwahahhaha!
Newly formed Hothead Games announces a title based on [Penny Arcade] is in development.

WHAT'S MY NAME? What DID I say in the interview? That I wanted a game with Gabe's (Mike Krahulik's) art. That I would totally play a Guild Wars that looked like Gabe had drawn it.
I gotta hand it to Tycho. He could've spilled, but he didn't! DAMN YOOOOOO!
I gotta sharpen those spill sklls.

Excellent interview Lea!

I'm not sure how well you know Tycho, but your rapport was very entertaining (in a "we've known each other for years" bantery type of way)! I feel like it should have ended with a "thank you, we'll be here all week, don't forget to tip your bartenders!"

I'm really looking forward to next week's show!

(One slight correction though... You plugged an event in Worcester Massachusetts at the end of the show; I'm pretty certain I'd be asked to leave the state if I didn't mention that it's pronounced "Wuss-ter." For whatever reason, once you get into Massachusetts, all common-sense pronunciation is thrown out the window.)

Oh, that's not the half of it!

Yes, Worchester is pronounced "Wuss-ter" (you beat me to it), but another Mass. community Dorchester is pronounced, well ... "Dorchester"! How's that for crazy?

Driving in Massachussets is about as illogical (which we'll be reminded of in three weeks) but I still love my old home state.

Great show so far, Lea! Looking forward to Part Two.

Actually, it's pronounced "Dorchestah". :D
The one that actually messes me up for real is "Norfolk". Norfork? Norfuk? It's certianly not Nor-Folk, right?

The brits do it constantly: "Woostersheer" for Worcestershire. But you don't have to go that far if you want inventive pronunciation . It seems that they say "Tight show bra" or "Tie show bra" for Tycho Brahe, down there in your Texas.

Wait'll next week. I actually get "Tick Ho Brag" out of it.

I was mispronouncing it to be funny. Next show, I get SCHOOLED on the pronounciation of "cache."

It's not "Nor-folk?"

Oh dear.

The closest approximation I can reasonably type out is "NOH-fuk". At least, that's how my dad pronounced it. But he also said "hoss". Like, "The cowboy rode into town on his hoss."

You'd have broken my heart if you hadn't said something about the show. :D

Next week's show is awesome, too!

Thanks for listening! I will pronounce "Wuster" correctly from now on.
