The Simpsons Movie and Another Day
Aug. 15th, 2007 11:02 pmIt says a lot that, even after almost twenty years, The Simpsons can still make me laugh, and even surprise me.
I took Boy today, and he was laughing his ass off most of the time. I have no idea what might be completely lost on him, I just know the part with naked skateboarding Bart had us both in stitches.
The acapella Spider-Pig song at the end was quite the topper. Boy danced in his seat to the music, which he loves. It is not rare, exactly, to see him in this level of engagement, but it is wonderful when it happens.
Today was Farmer's Market again. We were back from it when I decided to reset the trip odometer and see if the Market was as far a walk as I thought. Yep! 1/2 mile each way. That means we walked a half-mile carrying a 20-something pound watermelon. We replaced the basil the damn dogs et last week. After the Market, we performed a Viking raid on the grocery store and got ingredients for grape tomatoes and pearl mozzarella salad, Alton Brown's gyros (but we'll have to bake ours), and chicken tarragon salad.
We're trying another Market tomorrow to see if it's the same vendors or different ones.
Back to it. I'm fully awake, and still shoveling and sorting the studio. If I had enough boxes to huck all this stuff into, the temptation to do that and sort later wouldn't just be brutal, but irresistable. Lucky for me, I haven't the boxes, so it will be sorted. Fucking lack of boxes.
