Vista: Cautious Squee! and Other News

UPDATE: STILL WORKING> OMG.
Well, I reinstalled Vista, and that awful feeling that I'd wasted my birthday present has abated. It helps a great deal that Toshiba effing got with it and put up Vista versions of their Value Added Package which affect my particular model. It would've been nice to have five or so large zip files, instead of 28 that had to be downloaded one.by.one., but I managed with a checklist.
After following the now-provided directions from Toshiba, I did the install and all the things that were hobbled the last time now work. Huzzah! Wacom has provided a penabled driver for Vista, and Photoshop pressure works! Huzzah! The touchpad works! Huzaah! The Gyro Mouse worked without an update! Huzzah!
Now, to find some pix I know were duplicated to the outboard drives so I can have wallpaper of the San Antonio Zoo koi pond, and I am solid gold.
WATER BOY
Boy caused a lake in the house. It needed mopping anyway. The rancid mop bucket needed to be emptied anyway. The disgusting mop needed bleaching anyway.
In a fit of domestic pride, I got the glass cooktop clean. They're a huge improvement over burners with pans in, but they have their own challenges. Cleaning is pretty much an endurance run of special scrubber, special cleaner, elbow grease and upper body strength. But I did it. I could read print in that sucker.
ATF: Insurance and Vigilance
Another bunch of insurance claims go in today. The sting of inventorying the losses has faded, and the overwhelmingness has abated. I was wondering if it ever would, but there it has. Sorry about not getting any RG up for the past three or so weeks, Aggggh! I should be back in the saddle next week. The Boy returns to school in two weeks, and Prickles will fly to their paid-for homes!
