24HCD: Home
Oct. 8th, 2006 10:02 amNOble Failure! 12 pages (13 if you count the one I didn't use). I just flat ran out of steam. Four digital, nine pencil and paper. I left the paper ones at ABC. I'll post them when I get the scans.
I think I'll finish the story properly on a less tight schedule, too, so I can keep the ha ha.
It was a real good time, though. I had awesome tablemates, Patrick stopped by, and so did Miss Monster Melly, as did Rivka, and others folks who will not be offended that I don't remember their names but I am glad they came by. Rob Osborne was awesome and encouraging. He did fantastic work, and I am envious of him and everyone else who made it. It was SO HARD to accept partial victory and make myself leave.
Brad is a fantastic host, but he always is. I went out yesterday evening and brought back a carton of coffee from Starbucks. I also bought myself a CUTE red mug with a monster on it, and broke it. :(
The other end of the table was VERY silly. Geek Talk ALL NIGHT long, which made us at the other end giggle. At one point, I laughed so hard I went into a coughing fit. There were Wookie calls, too. And singing the A-Team and Odd Couple theme songs. Our end talked about Barney Miller with two people who were either not born or very young when it was originally on TV. I giggle at everyone's LJ comments and emails.
And courtesy of the Silly End: Google Carrot Top, and go to the third page of images. Buff Carrot Top is what started one of the laughing fits. I can't unsee it, and now I must SHARE.
I enjoyed making comic pages totally digital. The digital was not the obstacle, but rather my very slow start, and then vapor lock.
Next time: full night's sleep, my own chair*, a SOME pre-planning, dammit.
THANK YOU all for hanging with me on my first comics since the fire. That support meant so much. Now I am sleeping! Love you!
*Someone on the silly end made a remark about being on the "edge of their seat." The seats of the chairs were so small, I remarked to my drawin' buddy, Rob, there was no other place to be.
