Bumped for my daytime readers.
I'm taking a shot here that enough people reading this have the dosh to invest in a maquette of a character or person of their choice.
UPDATE: Committment of ONE maquette. Thank you, thank you! I only need FOUR more.
ME: Wants to buy a monitor/tablet combo to speed up my art production and relieve carpal tunnel. Drawing directly on my monitor means less physical strain and taking out the step of scaning and correcting art. More art for everyone!
FIVE OF YOU: Want a maquette as beautiful as the one I made of Agnes Quill.
You'll get a piece full of accurate and glorious detail, in color (Agnes is gray because Dave's drawings is gray.)
Based on my experience with cured Sculpey stored in many ideal and adverse conditions, your maquette will last at least 20 years. I have two early pieces I found again after they were stored in a shed for seven years, and they are as I made them in 1983.
I use the best polymer clays, Kato, Premo and Fimo, and put the pieces through multiple careful curings for durability. Your maquette will come on a finished display base.
You won't be getting something you can put in a fish tank, mind, but a unique piece from an award-winning artist and writer who's worked for Disney, Dark Horse, DC, Marvel, Image and many other clients.
I can sculpt from drawn reference, photographs, descriptions (from a description, I'd make drawings first). I can sculpt pets, anthro, people.
These can be delivered before Christmas, too, making a pretty incredible gift for someone, including yourself.
Because this is somewhat business, and somewhat in the nature of passing a hat, I am offering single-figure maquettes for each $400. donation.
This is far less than many sculptors of my caliber charge. The price is for a SINGLE figure. For instance, if you wanted a maquette like Agnes, that would be two figures.
Anyway, if you're out there, and want to donate in return for a maquette, email me divalea @ gmail . com. I've got about (edit) FIVE days to raise the dosh.
Take another look at Agnes, and shoot me an email. Thanks!
