Dear Special Ed Bus Driver

You could have possibly picked a more wrong day to dump my son without making sure someone was at home to meet him. As it happens, we were. However, your job is to WAIT until you're sure someone is there. If we had not been, the results could have been tragic, as my son seems to barely comprehend that cars will kill him, and we live near not one, but three busy roads all within four minutes' walk.

You are a right bastard for doing this to him and to me. You should be ashamed. As you don't seem to understand or even like special needs kids, I hope you will be relieved when you lose your job, because you most certainly will. I am energetic, take care of my son, and am very, very angry.

Huh. Mercury retrograde began on October 12 and ends November 1. I am not one for astrology as such, but I do beleive it isan explanation attached to critical mass of incidents. What I mean is, things will happen, and circumstances will cause them to happen in clumps.

Then again, maybe the armed robbers, the Six Flags employees and the bus driver are just ASSHOLES.

Good thing it happened now, when you were home and ready to take someone to task. I am so sorry that happened and I totally feel your outrage. They need someone with compassion in that job. That's immoral, to leave a child like that on his own.

I think you are suffering from an influx of assholes and any small things you might do to remove such influence from your life might be timely. *comforts*

This is not a problem with compassion. This is a problem with comprehension of, and willingness to do, the job as it is required.

Failure in either side is intolerable.

Dear Universe,

Plz stop dumping on [livejournal.com profile] divalea. That's not nice.

No love,

Gaaaah. I don't understand how so many people fail to understand that in certain jobs, there are procedures and precautions that must be followed.

(Though I'm more often on the other side of this - doing things the way they should be done, and having people yell at me for not taking problem-causing shortcuts. x.x )

Just because they're assholes doesn't mean it's not Mercury retrograde. I hope you succeed in helping this fellow find a new career. I hear they're hiring down at the carwash.

If I knew he had previously done what he has done, I wouldn't even trust him to wash my car! What a moron. I'm so sorry this has been such a shitty past few days for you. Good grief.

It sounds like you might want to talk to every other parent who has a special-needs child who is 'served' by this person.

For that matter, you might want to talk to every other parent in the district who has a special-needs child, because you guys need to engage in some collective action. I suggest starting by making the school board aware of the level of idiocy in your local district's officers, and making them aware that they are legally responsible.

My little sister is 21 and non-verbal, intellectually as young as 2 in some areas, and definitely unable to fend for herself in any way (she still needs and always will need help in the bathroom), and this still happened to her once. These bus drivers need to take their jobs far more seriously and understand that just because someone can communicate on some level doesn't mean they're not as vulnerable as a newborn.
Some people make me so angry, I swear, I nearly bleed internally.

Did that bus driver get reprimanded? Because OMG that's awful.

All Over

We just had an incident last week where a driver did not check his bus after dropping special needs kids off at the school - a 10 year old boy was left on the bus all day - the mother freaked when called and told that her son had not been in school - then the driver made his rounds and dropped the boy off at home at the normal time like nothng had happened and no explanation or apology.

The mom has been on the radio for two days and I suspect the community, now aware, will take action.

My jaw dropped when I read your post. I can't believe the incompetence of the bus driver... he deserves a sledgehammer to the head (yeah that's strong, I'm *mad*)...

I'm glad you were home and that Boy is safe... ((((((((((HUGS)))))))))) ~melissa

So, is the driver's head mounted and hanging on your living room wall yet? What happened on this one?
