Domain Hosting Recs?

Anyone got a fave that is super reliable and not costly? Speak to me!

I've got Zeus set up with Flagship Hosting. I was at another ISP and they charge a lot if you go over your bandwidth, these guys are pretty good.

They charge quarterly. But with Zeus' requirements for a database their rates were great. And they're fast.

Dreamhost

That's what I use. I have their lowest priced plan, I believe, and it's got lots of space and subdomains and it's never been down as far as I've known. 9.95 a month. *nods*

http://powweb.com/ been using them for like 2 years had almost no problems.

phpwebhosting. three years, no problems. not sure if their prices will meet your bidget, but on the upside of whatever they charge, they don't charge for bandwidth. If you are using crazy huge amounts, they just bottleneck it for a little while. your mileage may vary from mine, though.

I've heard enough good things about Dreamhost that I'll be registering with them soon myself.

I use 1&1.com. Great pricing, superior uptime. On the downside, their interface is a bit of a pain, and the username issue still bugs me. (They assign crazy, impossible to remember usernames.) It's also helpful to have some basic network/server knowledge, but that's true of any host where you're not paying for handholding. :)

Depends on what your hosting needs are. I'm very happy with Lunarpages -- $7.95/month for 3Gb of storage, 400 Gb of bandwidth per month, and a squizilion add-ons including lots of easy-to-install PHP scripts to do everything from message boards to blogs to shopping carts. You can host 2 domain names for free and additional ones are a couple bucks extra. I'm not terribly familiar with a lot of their extras because they've added them recently (I've been with them for about 3 years) but they did retroactively apply them to all accounts. Really, I can't recommend them too highly; they've had almost zero downtime (that I've noticed) in the 3 or so years that I've used them and I've never found a web host that has so many features for the price.

My sister (who also uses them) tells me that she's found their tech support somewhat unresponsive. I've never had that problem, but I thought I'd mention it.

I wouldn't say super reliable, but cheap, http://www.hasweb.com or their slightly pricier plans at hostdime. Hasweb has a plan that only costs 48, for the year.

so, if you're looking for cheap, that's the one. They're not so bad, though support can be frustrating. For the most part, things work as expected.

I also use dreamhost.

I do find the cpanel setup at hasweb easier to use, and our studio site runs from hasweb/hostdime company.

Thanks for all the sugestions!

Hosting is like cold remedies or bread recipes: everyone has got a fave!

I don't have any recommendations, but this is something I've been considering for a long while now and I've been interested in what everyone is suggesting. So thanks, everybody!

I go threw PHPwebhosting, I've had them for four years now and I've never had problems. Even when I posted some short movies that were very obviously over the size limit, they were exceptionally cool about it.
