Walking adventure for the day was getting to the local Barnes and Noble. I am going to start carrying hand sanitizer. I'm not a big believer in it, but I have seen some of the delightful denizens of the bus, including myself.
B&N trip was for another Moleskine watercolor book for commissions. I had to get another because commission business has been just that good. THANK YOU for your business! I was not going to buy Summer anything, and I didn't. She spent her allowance on a swank blank book designed in cooperation with Savannah College of Art and Design. These are NICE! Heavy paper, 8.5 x 11", hardcovers, beautiful cover designs. Summer picked a red one with varnished accents.
We got really hot walking the .6 mi. from our stop to the B&N, but we did have sidewalks for all but maybe 50 feet! (I rate walkability on how much sidewalk I have.) I am strong enough now that I have to slow down for Summer. This will not do, my dear! More walkies for you!
We were both a little overheated by the time we got to B&N, but the cool air, some slow browsing and success at finding a good sketchbook revived us.
We are seeing our town from a different perspective. How much the roads curve (so much so, they are nearly left- and right-hand turns), how deep the valley we live in is, how short a distance it is from Here to There. A coffee is now an event, a big treat. Moving my feet doesn't feel like a miserable chore. (I know I've said that a lot.)
SUMMER FUNNY FOR THE DAY!
Trying to quiet her brother down as they sat for dinner: "Use your inside yell."
My daughter, ladies and germs!
