It really is!
Egg-blue sky, all our trees have gotten their new crayon-green leaves, the temperature is exactly right, there's a caressing breeze, and I have my windows open to take it all in. Lizards, woodpeckers, doves, and some sort of diurnal owl have been spotted today.
I'll be glad when we can xeriscape the backyard. It's kind of a site that makes eyes sore.
Tonight, we are going to see the bats take off from under the Congress Street Bridge in Austin. We'll be on the Statesman's lawn about 7:00-7:20. Anyone in Austin who wants to see swarming bats with us just show up.
