Happy Fourth my fellow colonist rebels!

A new page today! How about THAT?
You guys have been fantastic with the donations, and I'm so very glad to have the task of sharing your faces (and at least two beloved pets) in RG.
In return for seeing your mugs (or pets or online handles) your donations help me. Just eleven $50. donations a month pay power, internet, phone, car insurance, doctor's visits, and physical therapy for my kids, and about two IV drips of Dunn Brothers or Starbucks coffee a week. That's a lot for $550. (The power bill's cheap because we had a shit ton of insulation blown into the attic. The house's, not mine.)
That is, in fact, what the initial round of donations did! (And replaced about $40. worth of fire-lost art supplies I didn't know I needed because I hadn't needed them.)
At $550. a month for twelve pages a month, you're paying me $45.83 a page. You now pay twice TokyoPop's rate. Hold your heads high!

Of course, if the donations go higher, I'll draw one more page per $50., up to two more pages a week, because I'll be able to say to King, "Got another $50. in donations! Time to make the comics!" And he'll not whinge about doing the dishes and otherwise keep the Puppy Ranch from descending into squalor.

In the meantime, if you haven't yet read or finished reading Cathedral Child, how about spending a lazy afternoon soaking up the steampunk that Cory Doctorow of Boing Boing called, "...a fun, breezy, Tex-Japan mashup that's quite charming!"

If you have any questions about anything not exactly (or even tangentially) related to a post I've made, you can always email via my LJ address. Which, conveniently, you can find in my profile!

But, in case you're busy, it is: divalea@ livejournal.com

Speaking of Prickles, the flotilla of pointy crackbunnies will be dispatched by the end of the summer. I misunderestimated how much moving home and attending CAPE! would derail production, and I apologize for the delay.

Pictures ahoy!

One of the points where Ratatouille made me cry was when Linguini feed Remy. Remy grabs the cheese, and maows down. He reminded me so much of my sweet hairless, Gari (Japanese for slices of ginger, which is what her ears looked like), who died in the fire last year. Not the look, but how he ate.

I have been holding off, waiting for just the right rat, instead of just buying one to buy one. I wanted a blue, or another hairless.
We went into Petsmart about two weeks ago, and there was a teeny blue. Hairless.
The Perfect Rattie.

I thought if I found one, I'd name her Collette. But with her near-lilac head, this rat was definitely a Violette.

Here she is!

In the window, enjoying the garden.
Alert! Alert!

I got Violette to stop and listen by squeaking at her.

Hairless rats are what I have instead of shar-peis. I loves me the shar-peis, but my luck on them has been miserable.
