divalea: (mr. lilac would like a word)
King called State Form yesterday to find out where our reimbursement for the half-month's rent was, and lo, our previous adjuster, D.O., answers and he is our adjuster again. Turns out he didn't call us because he'd been moved on to other things, and he said he objected, but.
Adjuster Clint had handed us back to D.O. because, he said, "I can't work with them." There was a phone call last week I was not aware of in which King was pretty crabby with Clint. King got a mild tsking from D.O. about "catching more flies with honey."

At this point, I'll take D.O. We don't have to start from zero again, and now we know there's D.O. and there's Clint.
I can't help but notice this is the second time since the fire I've posted about a problem with State or Chase and it was magically resolved the next day, as if there'd never been a problem, or, indeed, someone said "Make the problem go away."
If that's the case, we thank you again, whoever you may or may not be.

Glee:
I am, right now, sitting at the computer desk in my new studio. I need a mirror for the corner so I can see the door (good feng shui, good for comfort level), but it is fantastic to have the kitchen, boxes of clothes, and food out. It's likewise fantastic to have my various tubs of supplies (tubs courtesy of Larry Dixon (and, I presume, Mercedes Lackey)) in the closet and the doors re-hung (instead of leaning against the wall).
There's still more supplies to be brought from the rental, but there's room and it's organized, instead of shoveling crap into mess into chaos.
I am giving the current configuration of the room a shakedown to see if it's functional and I like it. At some point, in theory, there will be a marble-topped table for clay, and then the furniture do-si-do will start over.

CAPE 3:
How do I feel about doing color commissions at shows? I think people who buy them are awesome, and I wish I did them better. (I ain't no Scott Morse, who can just go ker-choo and have something amazing done.)
Here's what I'm doing at CAPE 3, commission-wise, that we will BOTH like:
I have a shit ton of very cool, very small things to draw on. I am only charging FIVE BUCKS for them.
I promise you all will love them, and that they will be truly unique in a way I won't reveal here because I want to surprise CAPE-goers. In fact, I expect to see them the next day at the CAPE Big Gay Brunch.

I expect to have a new mini done. I'm going to finish off the story I started for 24 Hour Comic Day, something silly and foul and not for kids, and with a cool cover, and starring Nan 1^1, and PRICKLE!
I hope to get the first two NLEx minis reprinted as well (I lost my stock in the fire).
Speaking of minis, I will have copies of "Tango," an Arcana Jayne story written by Lisa Jonte, with art by me. It's about the AJ characters Emilio and Padraigh, in a sweet romantic short story. In color, no less!

Richard is ordering in copies of Rumble Girls and Manga Secrets, so I'll have those.

Last, but NOT LEAST, there will be KakUsagi Prickle dolls! They are even neater than the pix you've seen, they'll have cute l'il hang tags, too. (Oh, for more time to dress some of them up!) I'm only going to be able to bring about 20-25, so see me early!
