Lea's Lazy Sunday Book
Apr. 1st, 2007 06:16 pmIt's still puppies and kittens here. I seriously do not know what to do with myself, being all happy and shit like this. I mean, I've been happy before, but dang.
Okay, I had an argument with King over a pickle last night. There. He left a pickle on the counter and that really pissed me off because I cleaned the bathroom earlier.
We ate at the park today. Then, the kids and I went down to the creek and spelunked, Calvin and Hobbes-style, which is to throw rocks in the water to hear the "spelunk." As with most sorts of physical activity, it turned into a game, and that game was to try and splash each other across the creek, using only rocks.
Girl scored for wetting my pants front with a smallish rock, I won for most hits. Boy won for just getting the idea, then wading in thigh-deep as soon as my back was turned. Water sloshed out of his pants cuffs when he slogged back out.
It is very green here. We're almost out of the new green, where everything sparkles with that bright only-in-nature-and-crayons color, and into the shadow green, where the wind talks to the trees and the shade is deepening. The light on the water in the creek was spectacular, it made the deepest parts glow, and the color of the water slowly overtook the white rocks on the bank.
There was another mom and her boy there, they were walking on submerged rocks, and they looked like they were walking on water, and it's bugging the hell out of me that I didn't have my camera.
Back to the kitchening. I now have the screws for fastening my open end cabinet, and gloss white paint for touching up the dings that were on every single corner of one drawer front set. I was going to put up Command hooks for the pot holders, but the kitchen is so pretty, I think I'm going for proper hooks as soon as I can, since it IS my house and I CAN make some holes in it.
King is on his own hanging pictures. I bought the hangers, see?
