DIVALEA SHOW: Gah with Side of ATF
Feb. 1st, 2007 07:38 pmMan, I feel guilty, making y'all wait for something free. Prolly next Monday. Being split between two households is a PITA.
Someone left the door unlocked AGAIN. Genius. Let's hope the subs took their saws with them, because they sure weren't in the house.
They were putting windowsills on today. The dining room has windowsills. They are pretty. Too bad they're where...a window seat is supposed to be. Gonna get that straightened out. The seat is in the plans, big as life.
Tile goes in Saturday or Monday. We got spiff towel bars and soap dishes, they look like rock, but are resin. Even touching them doesn't give them away. The bathrooms will truly be throne rooms.
The weekend sees me installing base and wall cabinets. Ooooh. The doors and handles go on absolutely last, to keep them from dings, paint and klutzes.
And a final nerdly note. So very, very nerdly. Okay, know how paint colors are? The names of them? The way you think, "Someone gets paid to do this!" The way you think, "No wonder paint costs so damn much--someone gets paid for names like Relentless Olive ("The Olive, it just kept coming for me!"), Dorian Gray (I am not making that up), Moderate White (as opposed to Lefty Blue)."
Right, so the color we'd originally picked: we liked it, then the builder laughed about it being wallboard color. Then I could see it. Dammit. I called King today and said, "We really need a darker grey, and he set me to it. After laughing like an idiot at the colors (including the chip we called, "Black, black, black, black, black and black!"), and considering if I could convince King a pale lilac was too a grey, I picked a different grey, named something I was sure would delight King, a long-time Superman fan:
Krypton.
Nerrrrrrdz.
