ATF: Two Months and I Want Balls!
Nov. 8th, 2006 12:42 amWe bought a new Xmas tree today, pre-lit, dammit. I have strung Xmas lights of all sorts on trees, and I've learned to not enjoy it. We also bought some ornaments. King got a Superman figure and S shield from me and Girl. All our Xmas stuff was baked to a crackly crunch.
I am frustrated by the lack of plain old PLASTIC ball-shaped ornaments, not those damn snap-together paint-resistant things, either. The ornament asles are stuffed with pretties waiting to be transformed into scalpel-like slivers by cats, Boy and misfortune. I just want some dadgum plastic balls I can paint and embellish a bit! Am I the only one who remembers the balls wrapped in "satin" thread?
We had such an ace tree last year: we had a great accumulation of stuff that had passed the torture tests of kittens and storage and naughty dogs, and added Beanie Babies and a Zero doll Lisa J. had sent, and an angel I'd made in 1986. Back to building up the treasures with their stories.
I am writing this all from the comfort of me bed. I'm so very Edith Wharton.
