Rikki Simons made a great post answering my question to Bruce Lewis, which was, what about atheists? As in, how do they fit into Bruce's affirmation calling on God and Creator?
Rikki says, "When you start to think of just how big the Universe/Multiverse is, one doesn't need an imaginary friend to help them deny narcissism.
I don't believe depression stems from self-pity. As Westerners we're raised to believe that. However, in our lowest and darkest times when we can think of nothing better than for all thought to end, when depression becomes a psychotropic heat that pins us to the floor, and burns away any thought other than the weight of being too much conscious matter, it isn't self-pity we feel. It's a sense of being trapped that takes over."
Rikki got it: it's about coping with depression. It's about coping with Resistance.
I re-read one of my Florence Shinn book last night for the first time in years. It really helped. It is so hard to give to people what you want to get back, but it is a must if you want good.
